Finally I have some time to write: I know it looks weird, but we didn’t have too much time to go into the internet in the past 2/3 weeks. As Hector is saying in one of the below post, we have been doing quite a lot of things and after the Whitsunday island we spent time in Cairns, in the Australian tropical forest, flew to Melbourne in the south and traveled by car from there back to Sydney, where we caught another flight to Christchurch, in the south island of new Zealand!
Cairns was beautiful, but weather was really tropical: I mean, it was raining everyday, even if for just 1/2 hours. We didn’t do too much, but I managed to get a bike and go for a ride up to some waterfalls in the middle of the jungle, where I jumped into the river with 2 aboriginals that were chilling out there with their girlfriends.
Next town was Melbourne, where we had an amazing crazy time. There I met back my friend Kerry, 2 years after Bali. We did so many things that it’s quite hard to remember them all now. Every night was a party and we tried to see as many places as possible..mostly pub to be honest…in the quest to try all local beers! In between we also had a trip to the famous 12 Apostles rock on the Great Ocean Road, where we camped at Scottie’s, a very good friend of Kerry and we had a fantastic night singing, playing guitar, doing a lot of other things…:-)
We finally had to go back to Sydney: we took a car from a site where you basically move cars from a place to another..paying pretty cheap prices. Well, ours was priced ok, but anyway it was a nice ride, with a stop overnight in Canberra, the capital.
Special thanks for the great time in Melbourne to my special friend Kerry who made our stay in town unforgettable, full of fun and craziness and to Graciela, Fra’s friend, with whom we had great days together.
